For over 22 years, KeyWarden has been providing Key Control systems in different corporate markets. KeyWarden is an approved vendor and the designated key control distributor with Morse Watchmen’s in the state of Texas. For over a century, Morse Watchmans, Incorporated has been a true innovator of advanced security solutions. Today, Morse Watchmans has emerged as the most recognized name in security management products.
Since 1882 Morse Watchmans has been helping business owners and managers worldwide rest well knowing that their businesses were safe and secure. We innovated the tape clock to get rid of bulky, often unreadable metal dials. We gave our tape clocks solid state quartz works to assure the greatest accuracy and most reliable performance. As the digital revolution set in, we embraced new ways to gather, store, and share security information electronically.
In 1987 we introduced the first data recorder. Now there was a way to automate complete guard tour reports and track stations with a storage capacity of 2000 readings. Complete hardware and software in one package was now available.
Then in 1991, The Boss 2000 series was introduced. This powerful guard tour system is in place and working in over 20,000 facilities throughout the world. There are three models available to maximize your security and simplify security supervision.Morse Watchmans keeps one thing in mind – designing innovative products which meet the customers’ needs.Key management has always been a concern in businesses around the world, especially in larger industries such as hospitals, hotels, and correctional facilities.
In the early 1990s, Morse Watchmans realized that there was an increasing need for companies to successfully track their sensitive keys. With Morse Watchmans already having been a leader in the security industry with a sound business relationship and the trust of so many, companies were not afraid to share their key problems and concerns with us.
We learned that companies were storing their irreplaceable master keys on pegs inside locked strongboxes and that many of these same companies employed full time workers to distribute keys and maintain reports 24 hours, 7 days a week. We were also made aware of how mistakes were made and how employees took advantage of this system. Keys that were lost or stolen were not always accountable. This system lacked the security and flexibility our customers needed.
In 1993, Morse Watchmans, Inc. developed The KeyWatcher ™, the first stand-alone key management system that electronically released keys to authorized users. This system allowed for keys to be stored in a smart storage cabinet that accounted for each user by access code, time and date. Keys were physically locked in place and only released to authorized users. A patented feature called Random Key Return was also implemented, which allowed users to return keys back to any open location within the cabinet, therefore, protecting sensitive keys from pattern location placement. As the popularity of this system began to grow, our customers came forward and expressed to us new features they wanted to see. Based on their requests, we have added many new components and expanded the system to accommodate over to 1400 key locations and 10,000 users. There are also optional features like durable polycarbonate cabinet doors, which enable you to view the keys inside. More importantly, the KeyWatcher Illuminated is a stand-alone key management system that can connect directly to your printer, PC or modem to give you an on-demand management report with all the pertinent key tracking data you will ever need. Several thousand systems are now in place in institutions, government buildings and the private sector.
In 1996, The PowerCheck 3000 became available. This new sleek, compact product gives you all the knowledge you need in the palm of your hand. The PowerCheck is the perfect system for fire and safety applications. As our company moved into the 21st century, our systems continued to be the very best and full featured available.
In 2004, we introduced our next generation KeyWatcher system – The KeyWatcher III. These systems included changes that increased user and key capacity, integrated card reader interface, multi-user and non-random options, biometrics integration and new KeyPro III Key Management Software.
The year 2007 ushered in even more enhancements for the KeyWatcher and KeyBank lines of key management systems. The key management systems now accommodate customizable modules to accommodate other valuables that require controlled access. Spacious lockers hold larger items such as prescriptions, small firearms, tools, wallets and wireless phones, while thin slots are ideal for credit, debit, gas and key cards. Our product designers added illuminated key slots to make retrieving and returning keys easier. Our software engineers also improved the KeyPro III with new features, including Priority Email Alerts that keep security managers informed of the whereabouts of Smart Keys.
2011 was the year of the KeyWatcher Touch, an even more advanced version of the KeyWatcher series featuring a large, convenient touchscreen interface. This introduction was followed closely by the launch of the KeyBank Touch, bringing ease-of-use to the KeyBank market as well. The systems take advantage of new technologies to deliver actionable notifications in real-time to avert potential issues before they become a problem. A User has the key checked out too long? The KeyWatcher system will send a text to the User reminding them to return the key; at the same time, a Manager is alerted via text or email. Before the User can hit the entrance ramp heading home, they will receive a call, ” You left with a key and need to bring it back.” Power outage, door left open; management receives a notice so that the problem gets addressed promptly by the active notifications, unlike other systems with their reliance on reporting. As world leaders in security management systems, Morse Watchmans is dedicated to helping business and industry maintain a secure, safe environment.
As Morse Watchman’s pioneers the latest technology, you can look forward to more innovative security products in the future. Contact KeyWarden for more information about our security products at 1.830.214.0867
What are the different types of key control products and how do they differ?
The first distinction is between mechanical and electronic (computerized) systems. Mechanical systems provide accountability; with a glance you know who has which key. Electronic systems provide that and much more, including retaining an electronic record of key transactions and greater security through more rigid access means. This enables electronic to provide on-demand or scheduled reports detailing the activity of who has accessed which keys. Furthermore electronic systems can require biometric log-in and limit users to specific keys or hours of operation.
We offer two versions of electronic systems which can be configured in many ways. The primary difference is in Locking or Non-Locking configurations. A Locking system is typically used in higher security applications. The only key which can be removed from these during check-out is the requested key. In many environments, such as automotive and multi-family a Non-Locking system is the most cost-effective. The User requests a specific key but other keys may be removed during the check-out process. It is important to note that these keys are still logged and tracked while the exception of an unrequested key removal is also recorded and reported.
Do you provide on-site installation and training?
Yes, we do. For mechanical systems this is not necessary; however, on electronic systems it can great enhance the experience and processes of the customer to have a KeyWarden Professional install the software and train your users in its operation.
How do you support the products?
The mechanical systems and electronic have been designed to be modular to facilitate repair. Should a part fail we will ship, overnight priority in needed, a replacement component which can be easily replaced by the customer. Toll-free support is also available.
